The Digital Golem
The
Digital Golem project was another one done for school. It was actually for a business class, we had to set up a business website of some kind. There were no other requirements, just that the site had to be able to earn money in some way. In some ways the site is the precursor to this one. I created the fictional character The Digital Golem, an artificial intelligence that sought to learn how to communicate. It uses text for information transfer, but in order to understand human feeling and emotions it dabbled in music. So I set up the site and released a (rather rushed) album online. Cost of setting up the website and releasing the album: approximately 80 dollars. Gross profit so far: approximately 15 dollars. Average cost of a textbook for any other class: way more than the 65ish bucks I spent here.
Still, I intend to leave the site up and occasionally add to it. There’s room for me to post snippets of video game design, 3d models and electronic music that I create there.
